Between folk and urban sound, a warm softness steeped in memory, contemplation and nostalgia.
A Venezuelan singer-songwriter, born in Caracas and based between Montreal and Mexico. Self-taught, her music is defined by spontaneous, intimate songwriting, with a poetic signature shaped by a family history of migration, exile, travel and clandestine life. Her original songs address love, politics and the deepest longings. With her languid voice and her guitar, she explores the ties between lyric and melody, in a subtle journey between folk and urban sound.
In her early years in Montreal she explored experimental music alongside saxophonist Claude Kauffman and bassist Guy Richer, a path that led her to write her first album, Idilios, where she pours out her deepest emotions, fusing the rhythms of her Cuban-Venezuelan roots with producer Jesús Alejandro “El Niño”. Two emblematic tracks came out of that work: “El aire”, featured in the series Jack Ryan, and “Idilios”, in Jonathan Levine’s film Snatched. She has collaborated with Erik West Millette on his album West Trainz, and her song “Nuestra libertad” is part of the documentary Chavismo: La peste del siglo XXI, by Gustavo Tovar-Arroyo.
Today, Eva continues her creative work, consolidating her path and her artistic authenticity.
